A choral Tenebrae service featuring choir and instrumentalists, including students and recent graduates of the SEMO music program. The evening will include traditional and contemporary pieces composed and arranged by Joel Raney and Lloyd Larson. Tenebrae is a service that moves from light to darkness as Jesus' final days and journey to the cross are retraced.

Make Fort D Historic Site a destination during the weekend of the solar eclipse. In conjunction with the annual American Battlefield Trust Park Day, volunteers will be on the grounds for spring cleaning on Saturday and Sunday, April 6-7, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. On Monday, April 8, from noon to 4, watch the eclipse on the grounds. Visitors should bring their own chairs and protective eye equipment for viewing the eclipse. The cannon will be fired at the height of the eclipse. The stone building with its interpretive displays will be open, and admission is free.
Southeast Missouri State University will host a Sesquicentennial Ball on Saturday, April 6, 2024, to raise funds for student scholarships as part of the University’s Transforming Lives comprehensive campaign. This grand event will take place at the Show Me Center, at 6 p.m. with a social hour, followed by dinner and entertainment at 7 p.m. and dancing beginning at 9 p.m.

The Oliver House Museum was home to Missouri State Senator Robert B. Oliver in the 1880s. His wife, Marie Watkins Oliver, has been called the "Betsy Ross of Missouri," as she designed and sewed the first Missouri state flag. The historic home, located near Uptown Jackson, has recently been renovated.
The Oliver House is on the National Register of Historic Places.
Open for tours on the first Sunday of each month from 1-4 PM.

On April 8, 2024, from 10 am to 4 pm, Bollinger Mill State Historic Site will be hosting a free and open to the public event! There will be activities located throughout the day use area, on both sides of the river! Join us for the day to experience more than four minutes of solar eclipse totality!
We will be hosting personnel from Washington University and the McDonnell Center for the Space Sciences. They will provide stations with telescopes, and notable planetary scientists will give short talks about the science and history of eclipses. There will also be a booth with planetary globes and information about the McDonnell Center for the Space Sciences, planetary science initiatives and current missions WashU personnel are working on.
BBQ to the Rescue will also be at the site with their BBQ truck.
