KRCU's Brews & Boos Haunted Brewery Tour

This October, take a ride with KRCU to the breweries and “booeries” of St. Louis. Catch a ride in our comfy coach as we head north to meet up with members of Monster Paranormal for a tour of "America's Most Haunted Neighborhood."  On the way we will take time out to attend school at one on the nation’s largest (and most historic) breweries. Don’t worry, this isn’t an ordinary classroom stop. It’s beer school! Everyone walks away with an “A” in this class! Once you’ve had some brews we will turn our attention back to “boos” as we head to lunch at the most haunted house in St. Louis: the Lemp mansion.

Hear the tragic history of the Lemp Family.  Learn about neighbor Francis Tumblety…once one of the top suspects in London’s macabre Jack the Ripper murders. See the entrance to the once infamous underground caverns.  Then travel to beautiful Bellefontaine Cemetery where the dead do not always rest in peace. Hear stories of the famous (an infamous) residents who now call the cemetery home...and listen carefully (with special equipment) to see if they whisper to you as we travel through their resting place. You’ll be surprised and entertained as you hear strange, bizarre and spooky stories from the past, and learn the common thread between the great brewing families and modern hauntings.

To round out the trip, we will look toward the future of brewing by visiting one of the many microbrewery locations that signal the return of St. Louis to the pinnacle of the modern craft beer movement. Whether you are a “boo” or a “brew” aficionado, this tour has it all!
