Nate Saverino

Nate Saverino serves as the Assistant Director of Athletics for External Affairs.

Saverino, who earned both a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management (2008) and a Master of Arts in Higher Education (2010) from Southeast, is responsible for all athletic marketing, promotions and ticket sale strategies. He oversees the design and production of Southeast’s printed materials, such as posters, schedule cards and camp brochures. His other duties include securing corporate sponsorships, creating content for the Houck Stadium video scoreboard, producing public address scripts for home events, assisting the Redhawks Club in event planning and promoting, assisting with the Redhawks’ social media outreach efforts and overseeing the university’s athletic trademark licensing program. He also supervises Southeast’s sports marketing student internship program.

Prior to returning to his alma mater, Saverino worked as an Athletics Marketing Assistant at the University of Tulsa. Before that, he spent two years as Southeast’s Marketing Graduate Assistant.

During his undergrad at Southeast, Saverino also served a term as a communications intern for the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association. He also worked as a student assistant in Southeast’s sports information office.

Saverino resides in Cape Girardeau with his wife, Dana.

The idea for the Walk for Women event was initially developed by Cindy Gannon as a way to recognize the accomplishments of our female student-athletes, while helping to raise money to support athletic scholarships.

Sophomore tennis student-athlete Oleksandra Doroshenko was named the adidas® Ohio Valley Conference Tennis Co-Female Athlete of the Week, the league announced Wednesday.

Doroshenko posted a perfect 4-0 record this past week in singles and doubles with wins over Western Illinois and Eastern Kentucky.

Senior pitcher Madeline Krumrey went over 300 career strikeouts as the Southeast Missouri softball team swept Indiana State in a doubleheader Tuesday, March 13, at the Southeast Softball Complex, the first home games for the Redhawks this season.

Opposite hitter Haley Bilbruck of the Redhawks Volleyball team participated in the U.S. Women's National Team Open Tryouts held last week at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The tryouts were a first for Bilbruck and her attendance at the USA Volleyball Tryout marked the first player in Southeast program history.

Four Redhawks basketball student-athletes earned All-OVC end of year honors this season, the league announced earlier this week. Denzel Mahoney and Ledarrius Brewer collected accolades for the men, while Adrianna Murphy and Tesia Thompson earned honors for the women.
