Soak in what’s new in Cape Girardeau’s art scene at First Friday with the Arts, this Friday evening from 5-9 p.m. at various participating galleries, shops and restaurants. Galleries host artist receptions and often have musicians, appetizers, and beverages on hand.

The Red House Interpretive Center features an hour of living history with a lecture this Friday evening at 7 p.m. highlighting the art of baking in a bee hive oven.

Hop aboard the brand new free trolley making it's way on a loop around historic downtown Cape Girardeau and explore more of downtown without having to worry about your car.

The Downtown Trolley will be running it's route every Thursday from 4 - 11 p.m., Fridays from Noon - 11 p.m. and Saturdays from Noon - 11 p.m. this summer.

Stop 1 starts the route at Middle Street, across from the Discovery Playhouse, proceeds to Stop 2 outside of the Marquette Tech on Fountain Street. The trolley continues to the public parking lot at the corner of Broadway and Main for Stop 3, and heads from there to the 4th stop at Isle Casino Cape Girardeau.

Stop 5 can be found at the public parking lot at the corner of Independence and Spanish streets, and Stop 6 at the public parking lot at 35 South Spanish Street.

Stop 7 picks you up at Spanish and Themis streets and heads back to the start of the route. Each stop on the Downtown Trolley brings you to the front doors of dozens of restaurants, shops and businesses you can peruse and enjoy.  Get the full scoop on all of these events and more at VisitCape.com/Events.
