Ever wonder what it takes to keep all of the nature center reptiles, amphibians and fish happy? Find out at Feeding Frenzy at the Nature Center on Thursday, December 15th at 1 p.m. when animal care volunteers feed the hungry critters.

Explore the country churches of southeast Missouri on the Christmas Country Church Tour.  This self-guided tour highlights churches in Cape, Bollinger and Perry Counties that are at least 100 years old festively decorated for the season, offering Christmas music and refreshments Thursday, December 15th and Friday, December 16th.

Enjoy the serenity of a winter night as you stroll along the trail at the Candlelit Wood Walk on Friday, December 16th at the Nature Center.

The stockings are hung by the chimney with care at the Glenn House, and you can take a candlelight tour on Saturday, December 17th and see this Victorian home all aglow.

Still have some folks on your “nice” list you need to shop for?  Cape Girardeau is full of locally owned shops with one-of-a-kind gifts that will be met with “oooos” and “ahhhhs!” under the tree on Christmas morning.  VisitCape.com/Shopping has a full listing of locally opened boutiques and shops.

If you have family visiting for the holidays and are playing tour guide, Bollinger Mill State Historic Site remains open for tours throughout the winter, with the exception of Christmas Day, New Year’s Day and Tuesdays and Wednesdays.  Walk across one of the only remaining covered bridges left in the state of Missouri and tour the four-story stone and brick building dating to the Civil War that was used to grind corn into meal Mondays, and Thursdays - Sundays.
