Bring along a lawn chair and enjoy the Cape Municipal band’s “Show Me Marches” concert at Capaha Park’s band shell on Wednesday, July 12 at 7:30 p.m.

The River City Player’s present a Short Summer Castaway Comedy about five goofy castaways on a deserted island July 13 - 16 at Port Cape.

Take a culinary trip around the world with the Mississippi River Hills Wine Trail wineries on Saturday, July 15tfor a Taste of Wine and Countries. Each winery will offer a different taste of Europe paired with one of their wines for one ticket price.

Summer is here and so is the heat, so we rounded up all kinds of good-to-know info on Cape Girardeau's pools and water parks. Cape Splash has it all, from a lazy river to tons of water slides, a watery playground, spray pad, vortex pool and everything in between - plus the brand new Ship Wreck Island - and you can enjoy all of this water park fun daily from 11 a.m. - 7 p.m.

Fun extras at Cape Splash above and beyond their normal operating hours you might enjoy include:

- "Twilight hours," every Monday-Thursday evening from 5-7 p.m., where adults get in for the reduced price of $5 ($4 for children and seniors).

- The under 4 crowd is welcome at Little Tykes Time every Monday-Thursday from 9:15 - 10:45 a.m. June 5 - August 3, where they have the spray pad all to themselves while swimming lessons are going on. Entry is only $2 and adults enter free!

- Skip the kids and slide away with minimal lines at adults on swim, July 21 and August 4 from 9-11 a.m.; the Adults Only Beach Bash on July 20 from 7:30 - 9 p.m. has pool volleyball and free food.
