All About Cape: June 27 - July 3, 2017

VisitCape

Listen to a ‘Little Bit of Country’ at Capaha Park on Wednesday, June 28 at 7:30 p.m. with the Cape Municipal Band.

This week is your last chance to see the "25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" at the Rust Flexible Theatre at the River Campus June 27 and 28!

The Cape Farmer’s Market continues on Thursdays from noon - 5 p.m. in the parking lot of West Park Mall. Bring your little ones to the Cape Riverfront Market this Saturday, July 1 for the Marketeers Club, where they’ll learn about growing food and eating healthy. After an activity, kids earn farmer’s market tokens to pick out their own produce at the market.

It’s almost Independence Day, and if you haven’t locked in your plans yet we are here to help! From 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. on July 4, stop by Fort D, an earthenworks fort that defended Cape Girardeau during the Civil War for a free living history event. Soldiers in  historically accurate uniforms will be on hand, firing their rifles and cannon and flying their flags proudly, and civilian ladies in hoop skirts will demonstrate camp cooking.  After your barbeque that day, make your way to Arena Park for the Spirit of America Award and a spectacular fireworks show later in the evening.

Get the full scoop on all of these events and more at VisitCape.com/Events.
