Alliance of Women's Coaches Workshop Will Feature Gannon, Patterson

The Alliance of Women's Coaches, in partnership with the Ohio Valley Conference, will host a regional one-day workshop next Tuesday, August 1, in Nashville, Tennessee, and the workshop will feature a distinct Redhawk flair. Among the presenters will be Southeast Missouri's Senior Associate Director of Athletics/Senior Woman Administrator Cindy Gannon and Head Women's Basketball Coach Rekha Patterson.

Gannon and Patterson will be among women coaches and administrators from the OVC, Southeastern Conference, and Conference USA who will be presenting on topics related to networking, achieving a dream job, lessons on building a championship team, leadership, mental health and athlete well-being, and building positive relationships with administration.

Patterson will present "Dream Job: Get It or Love It" with Kim Rosamond, Head Women's Basketball Coach, Tennessee Tech, Stephanie White, Head Women's Basketball Coach, Vanderbilt, and Dana Drew Shaw, Attorney, Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP.

Gannon, along with Teresa Philips, Director of Athletics, Tennessee State, Diane Thurman, Associate AD/SWA, Middle Tennessee State, and Sam Wolinski, Head Volleyball Coach/SWA, Eastern Illinois, will present "Building a Positive Relationship with Your Administrator."

Patterson and Gannon join a number of other Southeast coaches and administrators who are serving as leaders in the industry. Recently, head men’s basketball coach Rick Ray presented to the Minority Coaches Association of Georgia, assistant men’s basketball coach Adam Gordon continues to serve as a leader and organizer for the Rising Coaches Elite organization, and athletic director Brady Barke recently began his one-year appointment as chair of the OVC Board of Directors of Athletics.
