Cape Girardeau Billing System Glitch Causes Sewer Overcharges On Some Accounts For July

A software glitch in the City of Cape Girardeau’s sewer billing system has caused customers to be charged incorrectly for the month of July. The city of Cape Girardeau recently converted its billing software to a new system causing some sewer customers to be overcharged due to a glitch.

 

According to a Wednesday news release, only some July bills contained errors out of the customers who have already received their bills this month, and any overcharged will be refunded. City staff is reviewing accounts before more billing deliveries or automated withdrawals occur.

 

The city advises customers to contact customer service if they believe their bill is incorrect.
