Dexter residents Amanda Richardson and Michael Magarian were presented with a check for $2 million on Monday. The couple recently won the Missouri Lottery.

Ms. Richardson and Mr. Magarian play the Lotto twice a week at the Dexter On the Go gas station. Each time, they buy three tickets; one for each of them and one for his late mother.

They have a special ritual they perform. After buying the tickets, they go home and put all three in a hat. The first ticket they draw is Magarian’s mother’s, then the second ticket belongs to Richardson, and the third to Magarian.

On June 5th, they bought three tickets according to their usual routine. That night, they learned that Richardson’s ticket was a winner.

Richardson discussed how she felt when she found out that she had won $2 million.

“Well it was very exciting, I mean it was a happy feeling. We just couldn’t believe that we won. Like we said, we thought each other was lying.”

Richardson and Magarian plan to pay bills, donate to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, and take a vacation to Walt Disney World with the lottery money.

The winning numbers were 5 7 26 38 41 42.
