Membership Week was a great success. KRCU staff and volunteers took to the airwaves October 3-10 and encouraged listeners to renew their memberships to the non-commercial public radio station. There was also a major push for new members during the campaign.
New members were encouraged to join the KRCU family by making a gift of at least $45. That level secured a $10 gift card to My Daddy’s Cheesecake for new members. It worked. KRCU netted over 50 new members during the campaign.
Local support from individuals and area businesses provides 30% of the station’s operating budget. Local support is critical to the future of KRCU and of local public radio stations all across the country. While the future of federal funding for public broadcasting often seems to be in flux, the stability of local funding from listeners and businesses is very reliable and very important.
There was broad support for the variety of programs offered by KRCU during Membership Week. The goal for the campaign was $41,000. Thanks to the generosity of over 200 listeners, we have raised over $33,000. If you would like to make a gift of support, you can do it securely online anytime at krcu.org.
