The Farmer's Market Holds a Special Place in the Community

May 28, 2018

Farmers markets have become the heart and soul of our community, a place where people easily interact, and it's common ground, alive with social and economic activity.  In addition to the great food you can purchase, there is often live music for you to enjoy.

The farmers markets have evidence of their valuable impact by stimulating development of the local community, both directly and indirectly.  The market is a place for the visitors of our community to make their purchases an experience!  You are able to meet the farmer who grew the items you purchase and it cultivates a different type of connection.

Saturday morning the Cape Riverfront Market opens from 8:00 a.m. until noon, located at 35 S. Spanish in downtown Cape Girardeau and the Cape Farmers Market is open on Thursdays from noon until 5:00 p.m. located at 3049 William Street in the back parking lot of West Park Mall.  It’s a great time to shop for some fresh fruits, produce, breads and the list goes on!  All the ingredients you need for those summer salads are sure to be found there.
