Former Cape Girardeau police officer, Jason McDonald was indicted by a federal grand jury in Cape Girardeau for possession of child pornography. McDonald worked for the Cape Girardeau Police Department for five years before resigning in August of 2014.
According to the department’s public information officer Sgt. Adam Glueck, the department became aware of the of the federal investigation after McDonald’s resignation.
“We were notified of that illegal activity and we have cooperated fully with the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. attorney’s office,” Glueck said. “And we will continue to do so.”
Gluek said this is the first time this has happened in the department that he’s aware of.
