Learn How to Identify Tree Species at Winter Tree ID

Jan 8, 2018

Visit with volunteers at staff at the Nature Center on Thursday, January 11 from 1-2 p.m. as they feed the reptiles, amphibians and fish. Also at the Cape Girardeau Conservation Nature Center, expand your skills beyond leaf identification and discover what other features can be used to identify tree species at Winter Tree ID on Saturday, January 13 from 1-3 p.m. After all, you don’t know a tree until you see it leafless! Bundle up and wear comfortable shoes as this naturalist-led hike will take place on the Ridgetop Trail behind the nature center.

The holiday season is also engagement season, and the new year brings “Bridal Christmas” as newly engaged couples dive into wedding planning!  If you’re sporting a shiny new ring, come to Cape Girardeau for a weekend of wedding planning fun and festivities with dress shopping, bridal expos and more!

Say yes to the dress at one of Cape Girardeau's multiple bridal salons with an unforgettable afternoon with champagne and gorgeous gowns with your favorite friends and family.  Cape Girardeau has many bridal expos happening throughout the month of January to help you dig in to planning your big day, including the Love & Romance Bridal Show on January 14 from noon - 4 p.m. at the Plaza by Ray’s Conference Center and the 2018 Bridal & Prom Expo at the new Drury Plaza Convention Center on January 28, both featuring fashion shows, wedding vendors galore, giveaways and much more.
