Uptown Jackson will hold its first Oktoberfest on Saturday, October 12 on the Courthouse Square in Jackson, Missouri. The event will feature live music, German style foods, beer tastings, a dog parade and more.

The Uptown Jackson Revitalization Organization is organizing the event. The group was formed to help increase community awareness about the City of Jackson.  Emma Evans and Tyler Wolfsberger are members of the the group  and they said the event is just the beginning of events planned for Uptown Jackson.

Oktoberfest will be held from Noon until 9:00 p.m. and will offer events for all ages including a dog parade at 2 p.m., followed by an apple pie contest at 3:00 p.m. There will also be face painting and various arts and crafts for sale.

Funds raised at Oktoberfest will be used for future events but also for future improvements in the Uptown Jackson area.
