Peter Gabriel's New Song Is An Homage to Muhammad Ali's Life

Legendary musician Peter Gabriel has just released a new song, "I'm Amazing," inspired by the life of Muhammad Ali. In a press announcement, Gabriel — long the leader of the band Genesis, as well as a massively influential solo artist — wrote:

"I wrote a song a few years back — 'I'm Amazing,' which was, in part, inspired by Muhammad Ali's life and struggles. And at the time of his death, when so many people are celebrating his life and thinking about all he achieved, it seemed the right time to release it."

In 1988, a determined Bob Boilen started showing up on NPR's doorstep every day, looking for a way to contribute his skills in music and broadcasting to the network. His persistence paid off, and within a few weeks he was hired, on a temporary basis, to work for All Things Considered. Less than a year later, Boilen was directing the show and continued to do so for the next 18 years.
