A Preview of the 2018-2019 River Campus Season

May 29, 2018

This year at the River Campus brings big names to the stage in productions you won’t want to miss. Plus, in addition to season ticket packages based on the series, you can also have the option to get packages based on area of interest. So for information on all the comedies, musicals, classics and holiday favorites coming your way, we spoke with the director of the River Campus, Rhonda Weller-Stilson.

It's going to be an exciting 12th season. We're going to start off with Touring...we're going to have "The Chinese Warriors of Peking," a group called "Turn It Up" which is a new sound of New Orleans, "Evita" and "Rent" -- all part of the Touring series.

For Theatre & Dance, we're going to start off with "Jesus Christ Superstar," then go to the classic "Our Town," "Fall for Dance 2018," the very fun musical "Sister Act," then we'll do "Spring into Dance 2019" and end with "Othello."

As always we have a very active season for the symphony, the different musical ensembles, the "Sundays at Three" and then the museum and the art will be having many gallery shows. To start off with the symphony, we'll have the "Symphony Sampler" which is a free event in September and then highlights of the year are going to be "Rhapsody in Blue," Handel's "Messiah" and we're gonna end with Verdi's "Requiem" for the symphony. We'll have "Sundays at Three" with local musicians, faculty, we're excited to have Sophia Hahn and Gabrielle Baffoni and then we'll also be bringing in wonderful chamber music ensembles.

You can get your season tickets and packages from yours truly right now by calling or visiting me at the Box Office. I hope to see you soon!
