Redhawks and McDonald’s Partner for #BigMacSack

Southeast Athletics

Southeast Missouri and McDonald's are teaming up for the #BigMacSack this upcoming 2017 football season.

If the Southeast defense records a quarterback sack, the Big Mac sandwich will be buy one, get one free the day after the game. This includes all home and away contests. Participating locations include Cape Girardeau, Jackson, Sikeston, Miner and Benton.

Southeast has both of its sack leaders back this season in outside linebackers Chad Meredith and Kendall Donnerson. As a team, the Redhawks recorded a sack in seven games a year ago accumulating a total of 17 for a loss of 101 yards.

Meredith and Donnerson pack one of the most dangerous one-two punches in the Ohio Valley Conference at outside linebacker.

Meredith enters his final season as a Preseason All-OVC and STATS FCS All-American, all this after starting his college career as a walk-on and later earning a scholarship. Last season, he accounted for 10.5 tackles for loss, four sacks and five quarterback hurries en route to claiming First-Team All-OVC honors. Equally impressive is Donnerson, who led Southeast with 13 tackles for loss a year ago. He tied for first on the team with Meredith with four sacks. Both Meredith and Donnerson have garnered attention from NFL scouts during fall camp.

McDonald's is a proud supporter of Redhawk Athletics. Along with the Big Mac Sack promotion, McDonald's last month unveiled a co-branded billboard near the corner of Broadway and Kingshighway showcasing their support for the Redhawks.

This weekend, SEMO Soccer will be back in action at Houck Field. The Redhawks host Wisconsin-Milwaukee tonight at 6:30 p.m. and it is “Take A Kid” Night – all kids 14 and under will receive free admission to this evening’s game.
