Redhawks Host Southern Illinois in Home Opener

Southeast Athletics

After two long road trips to start the season, the Redhawks Football team return to Houck Field tomorrow for the home opener against regional rival Southern Illinois.

There are a number of exciting promotions in store for the opener, and some new features for fans for the 2017 football season.

Tomorrow’s game is a Black Out, and all fans should wear black to support the Redhawks. The first 600 SEMO students  in the Redhawks Nest will receive free special edition t-shirts, courtesy of Burrito-Ville and Montgomery Bank.

Students will also have a chance to win a share of $10,000 each game as part of the Cape Trails Student Section $10K Giveaway. At any of the home games, if the Redhawks return their opening kickoff for a touchdown, ten students seated in the Redhawks Nest Student Section will win a share of $10,000.

Continuing a home-opener tradition, motorcycles are invited to ride into the stadium and rev their engines as the Redhawks take Houck Field for the first time in 2017.

Two hours before kickoff, fans are reminded to line up at StreetFest on Bellevue, in front of the stadium, to cheer on the Redhawks Football team during the Redhawk Walk – led by the Southeast Marching Band and spirit squads.

New this year at Houck Field will be the addition of the Dexter Queen food truck inside the stadium serving their famous Dexter Queen barbecue as a new concession options for fans.

Southeast Athletics and Transit Services are introducing a complimentary game day shuttle service to assist fans who can’t find parking close to Houck Field. The shuttle will run routes before and after the game.
