Redhawks Show Out for NFL Scouts

Southeast Athletics

Southeast Missouri's football team held its Pro Day at Houck Field on Monday.

A total of eight SEMO players conducted various testing exercises for five different National Football League teams. Athletes from other universities were also welcome to participate in the day's events.

NFL teams in attendance included the Jacksonville Jaguars, Los Angeles Rams, Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions and Cleveland Browns. The Lions had multiple personnel at the event.

Those who participated went through a series of tests. Hand, wing span and arm length measurements of all athletes were taken before any exercises began.

In the weight room, athletes were required to measure their vertical jump and then bench press a set weight. They then headed to Houck Field to record 40-yard dash times, broad jump, agility drills, and position-specific workouts.

Representing the Redhawks were defensive backs Omar Pierre-Louis, Rico McWilliams, and Mike Ford; quarterback Jesse Hosket; tight end Logan Larson; defensive lineman Joshua Wilson; and linebackers Chad Meredith and Kendall Donnerson.

The 2018 NFL Draft is scheduled for April 26-28 in Arlington, Texas.

Redhawk Baseball returns to Capaha Field this weekend for a three-game series against Eastern Illinois. Today’s game features a tailgate with free food and drinks and a visit from the Budweiser Clydesdales. Prior to the game on Saturday, the Redhawks will recognize the 1998 OVC-Champion Baseball Team, which is being inducted into the Southeast Athletic Hall of Fame. Stay tuned to GoSoutheast.com and @semobaseball on Twitter for updated game times.

The 11th Annual Cindy Gannon Walk for Women will also be held tomorrow morning, beginning at 9 a.m. at Houck Field House. Walk-up registrations are welcome at this event, which raises money for student-athlete scholarships.
