Antonius Cleveland

Former Southeast Missouri guard Antonius Cleveland has agreed to play with the Portland Trail Blazers in the upcoming NBA Summer League.

Cleveland will play in the Las Vegas Summer League next month. Games will be played through July 17 at both Cox Pavilion and Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Portland opens its Summer League schedule against the Utah Jazz tomorrow, Saturday, July 8. The games tips off at 5 p.m. central time and will be televised live on ESPNU.

Cleveland becomes only the second Southeast player to make a NBA Summer League roster. Forward Tyler Stone played in the 2015 NBA Summer League with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Meanwhile, former Southeast Missouri baseball student-athletes Dan Holst and Brian Lees have signed to play for the Gateway Grizzlies in Sauget, Illinois.

The Grizzlies, an independent organization, play out of the Frontier League. The pair joined the team on Sunday, June 25 and played that evening against the Florence Freedom.

Outfielder Holst finished his senior season with the Redhawks earning First Team All-Ohio Valley Conference honors while Lees, a catcher, was named to the Second Team.

Holst and Lees join an organization with strong SEMO ties. The Grizzles manager is SEMO baseball alum Phil Warren, who played from 1997-2000, and feelow Southeast teammate Darin Kinsolving is an assistant coach. Kinsolving was a 2000 First Team All-OVC performer.

The Grizzlies will play at the nearby Southern Illinois Miners in Marion, Illinois, on August 2 and 3.
