Southeast Athletics

The Southeast Missouri State football program is beginning to receive national recognition ahead of the upcoming 2018 campaign.

Redhawk senior running back Marquis Terry was one of four Ohio Valley Conference players named to the Lindy's Sports Preseason All-America Teams.

Terry earned second-team honors and was also tabbed as the OVC Preseason Offensive Player of the Year by the Lindy's publications. Last year, Terry was named to the All-OVC First Team after leading the league the with 1,076 rushing yards - which ranked 13th nationally - and he also scored seven touchdowns.

Meanwhile, offensive lineman Drew Forbes has been turning heads among national publications. National writer Craig Haley of Athlon Sports identified Forbes, a senior from as one of his six "Breakout Linemen" in FCS. Earlier this summer in its countdown to kickoff, HERO Sports called Forbes the best player in all of FCS Football to wear number 76.

In addition to Terry and Forbes, the Redhawks also return All-OVC Second Team linebacker Zach Hall. Heading into the 2018 season, Southeast has the third-most returning players who were All-OVC First or Second Team selections last year.

The OVC will announce its official preseason poll and preseason All-OVC teams on Monday as part of its annual Media Day festivities. The Redhawks open the season on September 1 at Arkansas State.
