Eleven Redhawk student-athletes took home All-Ohio Valley Conference honors at the completion of their Fall seasons.

Football was represented with five All-OVC selections. Linebacker Chad Meredith, punter Alex Knight, and kick returner Cameron Sanders each earn First Team All-OVC honors. Running back Will Young was a second-team selection, and quarterback Jesse Hosket garnered all-newcomer accolades.

Knight ranks sixth nationally in the Football Championship Subdivision in punting, and had been named a pre-season All-American prior to the 2016 campaign. Meanwhile, Sanders finished the season ranked 12th in the county with 27 yards per kick return – he returned one kick-off for a touchdown.

On the volleyball court, the Redhawks’ outside hitter Krissa Gearing earn first team All-OVC honors, while middle blocker Nzingha Clarke was named to the All-OVC second team. Gearring led the Ohio Valley Conference in kills this season.

Southeast soccer was also represented with a pair of honorees. Senior forward Natasha Minor was named to the All-OVC First Team, while freshman midfielder Esmerala Gonzales earned Second Team and All-Newcomer honors. Minor led the conference with 12 goals, and she finished her career ranking first in Southeast program history in shots, and second in in points, goals, and shots on goal.

Finally, two women’s cross country student-athletes took home honors as well. Megan Parks and Kaitlyn Shea earned first and second team All-OVC recognition after finishing 7th and 13th at the Conference Championship meet, respectively. The pair led the women’s cross country team to a second-place finish, the best finish for the program since 2002.
