MO8 Candidates Square Off In Local Forum

Candidates vying for Missouri’s Eighth District Congressional seat squared off Thursday night at a forum hosted by the League of Women Voters and KRCU.

Democrat Steve Hodges and Republican Jason Smith were joined at the Cape Girardeau Career and Technology Center by Doug Enyart of the Constitution Party, Libertarian Bill Slantz, and Independent candidates Thomas Brown and Dr. Robert George.

The six candidates addressed their positions on balancing the budget, gun control, job growth, poverty and benefits for veterans.

The League of Women Voters of Southeast Missouri and KRCU hosted a forum with candidates for Missouri's 8th Congressional District on April 25, 2013. You can find the audio of the forum below. We've cut it into three segments: Introduction, Q & A session, and Concluding Remarks.

Southeast Missouri State University to Host MO8 Debate

Southeast Missouri State University will host a debate Tuesday May 28th for the open congressional seat in Missouri's eighth district.


The 90 minute event will be co-sponsored by KFVS 12 News and the Southeast Missourian. Both will present live broadcasts beginning at six thirty p.m.
