Southeast Missouri's women's cross country team made program history at the NCAA Midwest Regionals on Friday, November 11, with a 16th place team finish. Megan Parks and Sydney O'Brien are the first duo since 1998 to finish in the top 50 at Regionals.

SEMO finished in 16th place out of 33 total teams competing, missing a top-15 finish by a mere 20 points. The team made program history, finishing with the highest team average of 21:49.

Eleven Redhawk student-athletes took home All-Ohio Valley Conference honors at the completion of their Fall seasons.

Football was represented with five All-OVC selections. Linebacker Chad Meredith, punter Alex Knight, and kick returner Cameron Sanders each earn First Team All-OVC honors. Running back Will Young was a second-team selection, and quarterback Jesse Hosket garnered all-newcomer accolades.

On the 16th of November, a Wednesday, the Redhawks Women’s Basketball team tipped off in the middle of the day. The 11 o’clock in the morning game was part of a special promotion called "Classroom on the Court."

The Redhawks hosted kids and teachers who took a school-day field trip to cheer on the women’s basketball team play Western Illinois University at the Show Me Center. Southeast Athletics provided free admission to more than 2,100 students, teachers and chaperones to participate in the event, and Cape Air donated Redhawk cinch bags for the students to take home.

The Southeast Missouri Department of Athletics held its inaugural Redhawks Trivia Night and Auction on October 15, 2016, at the Show Me Center. The event was presented by The Bank of Missouri.

In total, over $45,000 was raised for SEMO Athletics.

The event sold out in its first year, hosting 50 teams and over 400 people. The event featured eight rounds of various trivia categories, a live and silent auction, a celebrity wing-eating contest, and a 50/50 raffle. Food and drinks were all included.

Southeast Missouri State University was well represented at the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame induction this year. Former Southeast Missouri football standout Eddie Moss, softball coach Lana Richmond, track star Miles Smith and football alum Bob Stolzer were among 10 individuals inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame on Sunday, Nov. 6.
