Southeast Athletics

Former Southeast Missouri running back Kelvin "Earthquake" Anderson is part of the 2017 Canadian Football League Hall of Fame Class.

In seven years with the Calgary Stampeders (1996-2002), Anderson accumulated seven 1,000-yard rushing seasons. Anderson's 8,292 career rushing yards is the second-highest total in Calgary history, including 52 rushing touchdowns. He was a two-time Grey Cup champion with Calgary, winning titles in 1998 and 2001, and was named the CFL's Most Outstanding Rookie in 1996.

A total of six Redhawks have been named to the All-Ohio Valley Conference baseball teams, the league announced on Tuesday, May 23, 2017.

Outfielder Dan Holst headlined the award-winners for Southeast, picking up First Team All-OVC honors. Four others, including catcher Brian Lees, outfielder Chris Osborne, and starting pitchers Justin Murphy and Clay Chandler earned Second Team accolades. Freshman second baseman Danny Wright earned a spot on the All-Freshman Team.

Southeast Missouri's men's track and field team captured its second straight Ohio Valley Conference Outdoor Championship on Saturday, May13, 2017 at the conference meet held in Oxford, Alabama.

The Redhawk men collected a staggering 182 points throughout the dominant weekend, while second-place Belmont came in with just 138 points.

The victory is the third outdoor championship for the men in the past four years. Head coach Eric Crumpecker was also named men's outdoor head coach of the year.

Sixty Redhawk student-athletes will receive their degrees on Saturday, May 13, at Southeast Missouri State University’s Spring Commencement ceremony. It makes up one of the largest student-athlete groups in Southeast Athletics history, as the department of athletics continues to support its student-athletes in their quest to win in the classroom, as well as in competition.

Southeats Athletics

On Wednesday, May 3, 2017, Southeast Missouri's women's cross country and volleyball programs earned NCAA Public Recognition Awards based on their most recent multiyear Academic Progress Rates.

These teams earned NCAA Public Recognition Awards for posting scores in the top 10 percent of their sport. The APR is an annual scorecard of academic achievement calculated for all Division I sports teams.
