Southeast Missouri Head Football Coach Tom Matukewicz received a two-year contract extension through the 2020 season, Director of Athletics Brady Barke announced on Monday, November 27, 2017.

Ever wondered what 2,000 screaming school kids attending a college basketball games sounds like? The Redhawks women’s basketball team found out last Tuesday, November 14 when hosted its annual Classroom on the Court promotion.

The Southeast women hosted Missouri Valley College for an 11 a.m. tip-off inside the Show Me Center, in front of a crowd full of elementary and middle school kids who took a field trip from area school, including Cape and Jackson and even as far as Puxico, Missouri and Egyptian Schools in Illinois.

Southeast Missouri senior middle blocker Nzingha Clarke and senior outside hitter Krissa Gearring both earned First-Team All-Ohio Valley Conference honors, the league announced at the 2017 OVC Volleyball Championship Banquet at Fortera Stadium Wednesday night.

Clarke, an O'Fallon, Illinois native, picked up her fourth end-of-year conference honors as a Redhawk on Wednesday. She was selected to the all-newcomer team in 2014 and now has earned All-OVC accolades in 2015, 2016 and 2017.

Southeast Missouri State University

A pair of SEMO Soccer student-athletes earned All-Ohio Valley Conference honors last week. Sophomore midfielder Esmie Gonzales was named First-Team All-Ohio Valley Conference and freshman forward Lexi Grote claimed All-Newcomer accolades, the league announced during its pre-tournament banquet.

A native of Fort Worth, Texas, Gonzales ranks fourth in the OVC with eight goals this season. She also rates among the top five in the conference in shots, shots per game, points and game-winning goals. Gonzales's six goals in OVC play are a league-high.

The Redhawks Football and Men’s Basketball will both be playing for a special cause tomorrow, November 4, to raise money and awareness for charity.

At Houck Field, the Southeast Football team is hosting its third annual Pink Up Game, in partnership with Saint Francis Healthcare System, to raise awareness for breast cancer and other forms of cancer. The Redhawks will be wearing their alternate pink and black jerseys, customized with the name of someone affected by cancer on the back.
