KRCU Will Host 7th Annual 5KRCU Run/Walk for Public Radio on September 28

Make plans to join KRCU for its 7th Annual 5KRCU Run/Walk for Public Radio on Saturday, September 28.

Participants can run competitively with professional timing provided by the Cape Road Runners, or they can walk for leisure in an effort to raise funds for Southeast Missouri’s public radio station. All skill levels are welcome!

The race will begin and end in front of KRCU Studios, located in the Serena Building on Southeast’s campus. A detailed map of the route will be posted in the coming weeks. The 5KRCU will take place on Saturday, September 28. Registration will start at 7 a.m., and the race will start at 8 a.m.

Those registered by our early bird deadline of Friday, September 6, are guaranteed a t-shirt that can be picked up on race day. The general race fee is $25, which will be raised to $30 after the early bird deadline. SEMO students and children under the age of 17 can run for $15. The 5KRCU is part of Cape Girardeau Road Runners Grand Prix Event Series.

All runners/walkers will be entered in a drawing to win one of five pairs of running shoes compliments of Brown's Shoe Fit Co. We will be giving away one pair of each of the following brands: Hoka, New Balance, Brooks, On Running, Asics. Must be present to win. One winner per household.

Dan is a 1994 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University. He majored in radio and minored in political science. He spent three of his four years at Southeast working as a student announcer at KRCU – the beginning of his radio career.
