St. Francis Healthcare System will offer free skin cancer screenings on April 11.
Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the United States, affecting millions of Americans every year. About one in five Americans will develop skin cancer in their lifetime. The screenings are in conjunction with the American Academy of Dermatology’s SPOT me program.
The free skin cancer screenings will take place Saturday, April 11, from 8 a.m. to noon at Cape Radiation Oncology at Entrance 6 of St. Francis Medical Center. Appointments are required.

The Cape Girardeau County Archive Center is delighted to host SEMO graduate student Ailsa Cattanach for a paper mending workshop at 10 AM Saturday, April 11, 2026.
Participants will learn how to clean and mend historic paper. Materials provided, or participants may bring their own.

Our sensory craft times specialize in making crafts accessible and available to adults with mental disabilities. All are welcome to join, however, this session has been structured for adults with mental, behavioral, or physical disabilities. The Jeanine Larson Dobbins Conservatory of Theatre and Dance will present Legally Blonde.
This feel-good musical follows Elle Woods, a fashionable and bubbly sorority girl who enrolls in Harvard Law School to win back her ex. Along her journey, she discovers her own potential and develops a passion for justice. The musical features a vibrant score by Laurence O’Keefe and Nell Benjamin and celebrates self-discovery, breaking stereotypes, and embracing one’s true capabilities.
You can see Legally Blonde in the Bedell Performance Hall at SEMO’s River Campus from April 9-12. Tickets are available online or at the River Campus Box Office.

Dances are taught and prompted to old-time music, sometimes live. Come early for extra instuction. Come with or without a partner. Children and families are welcome. Age 8 and up can learn the dance easily. $5 contribution is requested for hall rental and musicians. Look on YouTube for Contra Dance, Cape Girardeau, MO to see a sampling of our dances.

Join youth-certified yoga instructor, Maggie Salem, for a half hour of toddler mindful movement. Yoga mats will be provided.

Accompanying AdultsThis program is designed for children and accompanying adults. Please plan to attend and be engaged with your child for this program. Drop-offs will not be permitted.
Consider joining one of our Riverside Regional library branch book clubs! This month we’ll be reading the romance novel “Funny Story” by Emily Henry. Perryville Book Club meets on the second Monday of the month. For ages 18+ at the Perryville Branch.
Each month, join a party of adventurers and work together to complete your mission. No experience is required and pre-made characters will be provided.
