Visit Cape

Dennis Stroughmatt and the Creole Spirit take you on a musical journey into Upper Louisiana Creole Culture this Friday, May 19th at Tunes at Twilight at 7 p.m.  Relax on the Courthouse Gazebo lawn and listen to music on a bluff overlooking the Mississippi river!

Shop for any item imaginable and maybe even find a treasure of your very own at the Spring Garage Sale on Saturday, May 20th at the Osage Centre.

Cape Girardeau’s farmers markets are in the swing of spring! Visit the Cape Farmer’s Market at the Southwest entrance of West Park Mall on Thursdays from noon-5, and the Cape Riverfront Market on Saturday mornings at 35 South Spanish Street in downtown Cape Girardeau for springtime produce and more locally produced goods.

Have you noticed new sculptures popping up along Broadway? The 2017 Outdoor Sculpture Exhibit is in place, and this might be the most fun group of artwork yet!  Seven new sculptures juried by Jennifer Torres with input from the Public Art Committee are dotted up and down Broadway, from Pacific Street all the way down to Main Street.

The sculptures will be in place until April of 2018, so take a walk down Broadway and check out this year’s batch.  Pieces are created from aluminum, steel structural tubing, welded steel and more, and several are interactive pieces of art that invite you to climb aboard!  CapeArts.org has additional information on the Outdoor Sculpture Exhibit.
