At the recent Chamber Annual Dinner, we announced the Small Business and Ambassador of the Year awards.
You may have met some of the Chamber ambassadors out and about in the community. This group of incredibly dedicated individuals represent our Chamber every single day. They do so much to strengthen our entire business community…giving tons of time and energy. So, coming out on top in this group is a major accomplishment.
In 2017, the individual who did the most was Brandy McIntire. She recruited members, helped us cut dozens of ribbons for new businesses and advocated for Cape Girardeau. And this is just the tip of the iceberg…from her involvement with BNI and United Way to knocking out her first Marathon, Brandy is certainly a go-getter. I’ve known her for many years and she’s just a really good person. Thank you for all you do Brandy, Cape is lucky to have you.
The small business of the year award is given annually to an outstanding local, small business. Each year the judges for this award tell us it’s really difficult to choose a winner and considering the candidates, I’m sure this year was no different. However, when the scores were tallied, Marco Construction Products came out on top.
Marco was started in 2009 with one employee in a small building in Chaffee. They now have more than 12,000 square feet in Cape, with eight employees and continually expanding revenue. A big part of Marco’s success can be traced back to owners, Todd and Megan Marchi, along with key employees, and their incredible focus on customer service. This is a well-deserved award…congratulations to the entire team at Marco Construction Products.
