The Cape Girardeau City Council is making time changes to their bi-monthly council meetings.
Held on the first and third Monday of each month, the meetings previously consisted of a study session beginning at 5 p.m. and a regular session at 7 p.m. Effective next Monday, May 21, the two sessions will be unified into one event from then on, starting at 5 p.m.
The change comes from an attempt to possibly improve attendance at - and remove the gap between - each meeting.
Council meetings will now begin with an invocation and pledge of allegiance, followed by the study and regular sessions.
