Locally-owned Italian restaurant Bella Italia in Cape Girardeau has announced it’s going smoke-free starting June 1. Owner Mark Dirnberger says they want to keep up with ongoing health trends in the community.
“We’ve had several of our clientele ask us when and if we were going to, they would be looking forward to it,” said Dirnberger. “General health-wise and consideration for employees and staff also, we are going to be a non-smoking operation.”
In Missouri, the decision is left up to business owners on their smoking policies. Bella Italia joins Port Cape, Sands Pancake House and Pilot House, who have all gone smoke-free within the past year.
