Each week, Ellen Farrow will share what's on stage...what's happening behind the scenes...and all the latest River Campus activities. Ellen is the Box Office Manager at the River Campus.

"Cirque Mechanics" is Coming to the River Campus

If I told you about a show that merges steampunk … acrobatics … and cycling … I doubt you’d believe me, but that’s just what you’ll find with "Cirque Mechanics" at the Bedell Performance Hall.

This Las Vegas-based show combines theater … the circus … and all things mechanical for a truly unique performance, but don’t take my word for it. The reviews are in … and they say it’s “engrossingly entertaining” and “high-flying, free-wheeling fun.”

This family friendly show peddles onstage on Friday, April 28.

And for music lovers … have we got a lineup for you …this week the Department of Music showcases jazz, in the jazz band’s final concert of the season with the two big bands performing a wide array of styles.

On Sunday, April 30, you can take in opera at the Shuck Recital Hall as well as an organ concert downtown at Old Saint Vincent’s Church.

And on Tuesday, May 2,  the Southeast Wind Symphony ends its season with "The Hounds of Spring" and ensemble director Marty Reynolds is especially excited about a world premiere during the concert.

"Well as part of the final concert this semester...of this season, we're featuring the work of a student composition major and the work he's done is called "For God So Loved the World" and it's based on the hymn tune and based on the scripture John 3:16. Really excited to be able to do student compositions on the concert coming up. "
