Flutist Mark Sparks to Visit Cape Girardeau

Mark Sparks, the principal flutist of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra will be presenting a concert as part of the Sundays at Three Chamber Music series at Southeast Missouri State University.

The performance is scheduled for Sunday, March 30 in the Shuck Music Recital Hall on the River Campus at, of course, 3:00 p.m.  Sparks will be playing some familiar music by Gaubert, but also some less frequently heard pieces, including a composition by Brahms originally scored for the clarinet.

He'll also be previewing selections form his latest CD.  Mr. Sparks recently visited the Caffe Concerto where he talked with Tom Harte about the concert, the music, and his tenure at the St. Louis Symphony.

Tickets can be purchased by calling the River Campus Box Office at (573) 651-2265 or at RiverCampusEvents.com

Tom Harte is a retired faculty member from Southeast Missouri State University where he was an award-winning teacher, a nationally recognized debate coach, and chair of the department of Speech Communication and Theatre.
