Guy Raz Shares His Favorite TED Talk

Amy Cheh

I recently spoke with Guy Raz, host of the NPR program The TED Radio Hour. In it Raz shared that his favorite TED Talk comes from social psychologist Amy Cuddy on a talk she gave about body language. Raz says Cuddy's talk is incredible, and noted that at a deeper level it was about "her own experience feeling like a fraud," and Raz goes on to say "We all think of that, all the time. There are days, where I'm at NPR, and I'm thinking, how did I ever end up here?"

My favorite TED talk comes from John Hodgman. I’m a big fan of Hodgman’s work, the way he deadpans ridiculous things as truth. In this talk he uses the idea of alien abduction as an explanation for the unlikely events of his own life, including having found love.  It’s such a unique piece, because it takes meandering fabrications and wild speculation and weaves them into a personal story that has real incite.
