An axolotl in captivity.

The Veils have a song on their new album Total Depravity titled "Axolotl." An axolotl is a completely charming and sadly endangered salamander

De La Soul have new music out, an album titled And The Anonymous Nobody which is a reference to how it was crowdfunded through Kickstarter. They also released a documentary that details the making of their new album. Fascinatingly, the pioneers of sampling music in hip-hop who know all too well the murky legal standing of the practice avoided all that mess by brining in a ton of musicians and recording over 200 hours of original music to sample from. The album is a star-studded production, with appearances from Damon Albarn, David Byrne, and 2 Chainz.

Left Of The Dial airs Friday nights from 9-11 and Saturdays from Noon-2 on KRCU.
