The Southeast Missouri gymnastics team has completed its schedule for the 2017 season. SEMO will compete in 12 total meets, four of which will be held at Houck Field House.
Southeast will host the defending Midwest Independent Conference champions, Lindenwood, on Friday, January 20 in the SEMO Classic. On February 17, the Redhawks will host Centenary in the annual Pink Up Meet to help raise breast cancer awareness. SEMO rounds out its home slate the first weekend of March when it hosts Texas Woman's and Rutgers on Friday, March 3, followed by Air Force on Sunday, March 5.
On the road, SEMO will compete in eight meets, including competition against Power 5 Conference programs such as Mizzou, Iowa State, Nebraska and California. The Redhawks will close their schedule out in Chicago at the annual MIC Championship meet in mid-March.
Head gymnastics coach Kristi Ewasko said about the team’s schedule: "This season will provide us a very diverse travel schedule and exciting home competitions. Each meet will give us an opportunity to challenge our potential and fight for a chance to compete at NCAA Regionals! We will take this season one meet at a time to make sure we improve and focus on earning the highest scores possible!"
The Redhawks will look to build off a successful 2016 season that saw them finish second at the MIC Championship and send three representatives to the NCAA Regional in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. All Gymnastics meets are hosted at Houck Field House, and general admission for each home meet is just $5 at the door.
