Two-Minute Drill

Every Friday at 5:31 a.m., 7:31 a.m. and 5:18 p.m., Nate Saverino highlights players, coaches and more in the Two-Minute Drill. Keep up with the Redhawks on KRCU.

Southeast Missouri State University assistant men’s basketball coach Chris Moore and senior forward Joel Angus III spent two weeks in Europe from August 8-19.

Moore and Angus were invited to join the Global Sports Academy, a not-for-profit organization participating in domestic and international competition since 1991. Global Sports Academy's mission is to arrange athletic competition between equally matched teams at all levels and to "Promote International Goodwill" and a better understanding between nations through sports.

Southeast Missouri State University introduced Andy Sawyers as its new head baseball coach on August 1. Sawyers is the sixth head coach in the Redhawks baseball history and takes over a program that has won three consecutive Ohio Valley Conference regular-season championships, including the OVC Tournament title  and NCAA Tournament appearance in 2016.

In light of the recent shootings in the United States, Southeast Missouri State University head football coach Tom Matukewicz felt compelled to do something.

Matukewicz immediately turned to his player-driven leadership council for ideas and Jackson native Dante Vandeven was quick to suggest a charity flag football event that would involve Southeast’s football team and local law enforcement personnel. Not a game that would pit Cops against Redhawks, but an event that would bring an entire community together.

Southeast Missouri State University freshman midfielder Esmeralda Gonzales is used to scoring goals.

Before joining the Redhawks, Gonzales is the national high school record holder for goals scored in both boy’s and girl’s soccer – she scored 316 goals during her outstanding four-year career at South Hills High School in Fort Worth, Texas.
